Studio Policies
• ABSOLUTELY NO SHOES THAT HAVE BEEN WORN OUTSIDE WILL BE ALLOWED IN OUR DANCE ROOMS. ONLY dance shoes are allowed in our dance rooms.
• Coats, dance bags, and water bottles should be left in the waiting areas rather than taken into classrooms unless teacher approves.
• Food and snacks are not allowed in the building. Ants are too small to wear dance shoes and are very difficult dance students.
• Clear fluids, in plastic containers, should be left to the side, or for after class, and disposed of properly.
• ALL workout equipment or empty dance rooms are off limits to students, parents, and siblings.
• Parents and dancers must review and abide by our safety guidelines included in our waiver. Our waiver must be submitted before class participation.
• Parents, please do not allow your child to run into the parking lot or meet you at a different location. Please wait outside for pickup when you can.
Please remember that each child is an individual, unique in every way. We expect each of them to work to the best of their ability. Talent cannot be forced. Each deserves respect and admiration for what they do achieve. The Dance Centre must be a safe and happy place for all. Negative and malicious behavior including, but not limited to, rumors, gossip, assumptions, and misrepresentations will not be tolerated and are cause for dismissal. This includes all forms of social media. There will be zero tolerance for any disrespect shown to any teacher, guest choreographer, or to any student.

Teacher Conferences
The Dance Centre Inc. works to ensure that our families are well informed and try to do so through email distribution, virtual parent observations, our webpage, hand outs, and our Facebook page. From time to time, a parent or student might find it necessary and helpful to discuss progress, class placement, or incident. Personal phone calls or contact with teachers or staff through social media is not acceptable. In addition, the short time before and after class does not allow time for such discussions. We welcome the opportunity to be of help and service to you. To request a phone call or meeting, simply message us through our Facebook page, email, contact through webpage, or phone us at (248) 486-0410.
Parent Observation Days
We plan to bring back parent announcement weeks during our 2022-2023 season after a couple years of extra safety precautions. We miss seeing you and we love for you to see how much your dancers progress throughout the year. At intervals of about 6 weeks, parents are invited into the classroom to watch their child’s dance lesson. The intention of these observation classes is for the parent to see how the class is conducted, what is expected of the class, to chart the students' progress through the year, and to hear announcements from the teachers. We urge parents to attend these classes.
Recording/Reproduction Policy
In consideration of other patrons, and respect for our dancers on stage, all phones and electronic devices must be put away with all ringers and alerts turned off during any performance.
All Choreography is the property of the Dance Centre Inc. Any reproduction, all or in part, for personal use or sale is strictly prohibited under professional contract stipulations and copyright infringement laws. This includes, but is not limited to, Recitals, Guest Performances, and Competitions.

Tuition Policies
Pre-Ballet Classes, Adult Classes, and Ensemble Rehearsals are priced differently. More info on those on our webpage under "CLASSES" dropdown.
Monthly tuition payments are due by the 15th of each month. Payments can be made via check or through PayPal. Our PayPal link will be included in our monthly parent announcement email and should be used to submit tuition payments through PayPal if you prefer to pay with a card. Individual invoices will not be sent unless the payment is late. Check payments can be made out to The Dance Centre. Checks can be handed to a teacher or hallway coordinator, placed in the mailbox on the wall inside our front door.
Payable in 9 equal payments, tuition is based on an annual fee and is not dependent on the number of classes in any given month. There is no refund for cancelled classes. We do not follow the school district’s policy regarding bad weather or holidays. Should it become necessary to cancel, a notice will be emailed and posted on our Facebook page. PLEASE NOTE: INDIVIDUAL, PERSONAL PHONE CALLS, TEXTS WILL NOT BE MADE.
Tuition is expected and accepted the first two weeks of each month without a late charge. Payments made after the 15th of the month will be assessed a $10.00 late charge. There is a $30.00 fee for any returned checks.
No adjustments are made in the tuition plan for absences. Individuals are responsible to check with their teacher for an equivalent class to make up their absence. Students beginning later in the season may be required to schedule a minimum of two ½ hour private sessions, unless, schedules allow attendance in an equivalent class for the interim. This is based on teacher recommendation.
In the event that we are directed to close our facility due to COVID our same class schedule will convert to virtual and/or outdoors.
All fees, including late fees, must be paid in full prior to costume orders, competitions, ticket sales, and rehearsals for participation in dance performances.
The Dance Centre will be closed on the follow dates:
October 31 - Halloween
November 23-25 - Thanksgiving Break
December 24-January 8 - Winter Break
February 18-26 - TBD, Mid-Winter Break
March 25-April 4 - Spring Break
May 29 - Memorial Day
The Dance Centre inc. reserves the right to refuse services to any student, at any time, who is disruptive or disrespectful to the rights and privileges of others.
